Ashley Wylde is a queer and gender nonbinary writer, activist, and travel enthusiast currently living in Missoula, Montana.
Wylde publishes YouTube videos weekly on her channel Ashley’s Wylde Life, and is the creator of The Gender Tag Project, a project exploring the complex ideas of sex, gender roles, gender identity, and gender expression which has inspired over 850 individual videos responses. Her work on The Gender Tag Project sparked an invitation to speak at TEDxCSU 2016, and she continues to give speeches and facilitate workshops on the subject to university audiences.
Working closely with Catherine Simone and Christian Covington, Wylde and her two colleagues officially formed the collaborative project Boxed Wine & Bullshit in January 2017. The Boxed Wine & Bullshit YouTube channel posts weekly long-form videos in which the three members discuss topics submitted by their college-aged viewers, through the lenses of their own intersecting identities and experiences.
Having written poetry since an early age, Wylde began competing in poetry slams in January 2012, and attended the Women of The World Poetry Slam in March of that year in Denver, Colorado. Ashley Wylde’s two self-produced, self-released albums of spoken word poetry are available on iTunes. The first, titled “A Bird Just Flies…,” was originally released in June 2012. She released the second, “Disillusions,” in January 2014.
